  1. New: HS Code Lookup

    New Feature

You can now look up HS codes directly from a product’s International Shipments section. Enter a content description, click HS code, and select the best matching classification suggested by Australia Post.

Requires an active Australia Post MyPost Business or eParcel integration. Please verify the selected code before shipping.

  2. New “To Manifest” Tab for Orders Requiring Manifesting

    New Feature
    Improvement

We’ve added a new To Manifest tab to the Orders page to make it easier to identify shipments that still need to be manifested.

The To Manifest tab will only appear if your account has at least one active integrated carrier that requires manifesting.

When available, this tab shows orders where:

    • the order is still open
    • a shipment has been created
    • the shipment is awaiting manifest

We’ve also updated the order tabs so each stage is clearer:

    • New: open orders without a shipment created
    • Shipping in progress: open orders with a shipment created that does not require manifesting
    • To Manifest: open orders with a shipment created that requires manifesting
    • Shipped: completed orders

On the To Manifest tab, manifest shortcut buttons are shown directly on each order. These buttons take you to the relevant carrier’s pending manifest page. If an order has shipments across multiple carriers, the shortcuts are grouped by carrier, such as Manifest eParcel or Manifest Aramex Australia.

This helps separate orders that are ready to continue through fulfilment from orders that still need to be manifested first.

  3. Landed costs payer for international shipments

    Improvement

You can now choose who pays the import duties, taxes, and handling fees ("landed costs") on your international eParcel and MyPost Business shipments.

    Three options are available:

    • Receiver Pays - the customer pays duties/taxes on arrival (no setup needed)
    • Sender Pays – Tax ID - you pay via your own tax registration (e.g. IOSS for the EU); requires an Import Reference Number
    • Sender Pays – Zonos - you pay through a Zonos-verified account linked with Australia Post

This applies to shipments going to the EU, UK, US, Canada, and Norway - for every other destination it's ignored.

Set your default under Settings → Carriers, on your eParcel or MyPost Business configuration. You can still override it per shipment before dispatch.

Read the full guide: Landed Costs: Who Pays Import Duties and Taxes on International Shipments?

  4. Recreate completed shipments

    Improvement

You can now delete completed shipments in Ricemill and recreate them from the order.

This is useful if a shipment was accidentally marked as fulfilled, created with the wrong address or shipment details, or needs a different carrier/service.

When a shipment is deleted, Ricemill will attempt to cancel the related Shopify fulfilment so the order can be fulfilled again.

Please note: if the shipment already has a paid label or has been manifested, you may still need to request label cancellation or refund directly with the carrier provider.

Create a label for a item we have cancelled fufilment with.

Would love to have the ability to resend a shipment for an order that has been marked as fulfilled. Shopify has a way to cancel the fulfilment (effectively unmarking the fulfilment flag), but this does not allow a posting on Ricemill. Had this problem when I accidentally set a shipment as fulfilled.

  5. Aramex Priority is now available.

Add Aramex Priority as an option

Would love to add Aramex priority so that express shipments we can compare prices across auspost and Aramex. At the moment if I get an express order I have to manually put it into Aramex to compare the rate

  6. Order numbers now match Shopify

    Improvement

Ricemill now displays the same customer-facing order number used in Shopify across order, shipment and report views. This makes it easier to match orders between Ricemill, Shopify and customer communications without needing to cross-check internal order IDs.

If a customer-facing order number is not available, especially for orders older than 1 year, Ricemill will continue to show the original order number as a fallback.

  7. New Feature: Country-Specific HS Codes Support

    New Feature

We've improved international shipping support by adding country-specific HS Codes for customs declarations. Ricemill will now automatically use the appropriate HS Code based on the shipment destination, helping ensure compliance with country-specific customs requirements.

Support HS Codes based on country

Printing labels for US shipments is currently not possible without recognition of country specific HS codes.

If you've configured country-specific HS Codes in Shopify, they will be automatically imported into Ricemill for new variants. For existing variants, you can either manually re-sync the product data from the primary source or enable automatic variant syncing so that future product variant updates made in Shopify are automatically reflected in Ricemill.

These HS Codes will be used during label creation and customs declaration, reducing manual work and improving accuracy.

  8. New: Keep Product Variants Synced with Shopify

    New Feature

You can now choose whether product variant updates made in Shopify automatically sync into Ricemill | Fulfilment.

When enabled, changes to product variant data in Shopify will update the matching variant in Ricemill, helping keep fulfilment data aligned without manual edits. If your team prefers to manage variant details directly in Ricemill, you can disable the sync at any time.

⚠️ Available on the all paid plans.

To enable or disable this setting:

    • Go to Integrations and click Open next to the connected Shopify store.
    • Go to Settings → Product Variants.
    • Toggle Keep Shopify variant details updated on or off.
    • Click Save.

Note: When enabled, Ricemill will update linked product variants where connected Shopify store is the primary data source. The updated data includes the variant name, barcode, image, product type/category, vendor/manufacturer, country of origin, HS/tariff code, and package weight.

  9. New: Inline Inventory Editing

    New Feature

We’ve made it faster to update your inventory details in Ricemill | Fulfilment. You can now edit fields such as weight, dimensions, HS code, and country of origin directly from the Inventory page - no need to open each item’s detail page.

This helps you keep product shipping and customs information up to date with fewer clicks.

    Bulk Editing/viewing of Inventory

provide capability for columns/fields associated with inventory (eg hss tariff code) to be edited/viewed in bulk. Currently the only way to view/edit is to go into each inventory item, take a look, edit if needed and exit. it is very cumbersome. the capability to customise/show other columns in the Inventory view is essential

Allow multiple users in an account

It would be great to have the ability to invite multiple users to the account so we don't have to share login details. This would suit big merchants with multiple staff working concurrently, as well as small merchants with casual staff e.g. who work different days. Maybe allow up to 3 users on the free plan, more on the Plus plan? This should ideally use google or other federated login.
